Hi everyone! Sorry for the week long break, but over here at Mystic Cooking HQ we were preparing for another themed month. For the month of February, we’re going to be talking about Fairy Tales!Β  πŸ™‚

Rapunzel - Tower

So, what exactly is a fairy tale? According to one source, it is either a story involving fantastic forces and beings, or it’s a story in which improbable events lead to a happily ever after type ending. That pretty much describes a lot of fantasy stories out there.

I think what most people consider fairy tales are actually folk tales, or tales originating in popular culture, usually passed down by word of mouth. Stories like Rapunzel, and Beauty and the Beast, and Jack and the Beanstalk.

So, what makes something a fairy tale to you? Does it need history behind it? Or can it be a lovely new fantasy story?
